The more software you get, the harder it gets to keep track on any updates and new versions. I'm using Stylus RMX quite regularly since I bought it a few years ago, but it took me a while to notice that Spectrasonics has decided to freshen up Stylus a bit. With a number of updates during the last year, they fixed a couple bugs, but also deciced to include some nice new features.
The new time designer (introduced in version 1.7) allows you to change the time signature of any loop, which comes in handy for the odd 6/8th tune, for example. It also allows you to “groove lock” several patterns, ie. it adapts the groove of one pattern to another, and also includes a control to simplify a pattern musically. All in all, the time designer is quite helpful in getting more mileage out of your drum loops.
In addition to that, the current version also features an enhanced automation system and some new effects (both taken from Omnisphere).
So if you haven't updated your Stylus for a while – go and get the current 1.8.1d version (seems quite stable to me). And to keep track of future updates, you can follow Stylus RMX on KVR.
