Yesterday, I sent Mike Tobias a short message to ask him a few questions about my new MTD 535. Actually, I didn't know who I would be talking to you, but since the e-mail address was mike@…, I assumed it would reach him personally.

Half a day, I had an answer coming from the master luthier himself. He answered my questions and sent me a document with the exact specifications of the instrument. Now I know the bass was built on May 19th 2005. It will be its fourth birthday soon :-).

I was thinking of asking Günter Eyb to install an active/passive switch to be able to use the MTD in passive mode as well. Unfortunately, Mike Tobias thinks that the electronics will not be able to do that, and that the pickups will deliver not enough output. Well, I'll think about it.

Anyway, I was very happy to receive such a quick and personal response.
