“Ich steh an deiner Krippen hier” is one of my favourite chrismas hymns (sung to the melody by the great Johann Sebastian Bach), because of the depth of Paul Gerhardt's lyrics. The song is a rather personal reflection on what Christmas or rather the birth of the saviour means for him and his life.

For the GIO Advent Carols yesterday, I used an old idea and quickly arranged the song to sound a bit more modern. Of course, there's a lot more you can do with it, but maybe this is already helpful more somebody. Therefore, I'm sharing a lead sheet here. Have fun!
