Tom Wright in German

Lately, I've been working my way through Romans with a few friends. That was the ideal trigger to get started with a crazy project I've been mulling over for a while. For a long while I've been a bit annoyed that so far, there is no German translation for the excellent commentaries on the New Testament by N. T. Wright. Especially since for me, these books have changed my way of reading the bible thoroughly. Wright writes in a very personal way, yet manages to go in-depth, and he makes connections that I haven't found so far in other books. And he believes in the power of the Gospel to change this world, rather than just being a promise for a heavenly one.

But all the time I recommended these books to someone, I soon heard: “But it's in English, isn't it? That's too difficult for me”. But for me, the idea of translating a theological book as a non-theologican seemed weird.

Now I got the necessary impulse and I decided to just start. I have no idea where this will lead me, but so far it is a lot of fun and it goes very well. My „Romans group“ also gave me very good feedback. I am glad that through this, Wright can influence people that otherwise he wouldn't have had access to.
